Yanni


Yanni is a Grammy-nominated self-taught composer and pianist known for his explosive contemporary musical style by creating a beautiful blend of classical, ballad and pop music. A psychology graduate with no formal training in music, Yanni’s first little steps to a musical career were his childhood performances during family recitals. Having realized that music is his real calling, Yanni followed his dream by becoming a studio musician, jingles composer and producer, little by little climbing his way to the big world of the music industry.

It was during the 1990’s that Yanni became known as a composer/musician. In 1992, he released his first Grammy-nominated album Dare to Dream and followed it up with the other Grammy nominated In My Time in 1993. His compositions were not only chart-topping and big sellers but were also used in big commercials and major sporting events. Being an excellent musician, Yanni outdid himself when his video-album Live in Acropolis became a major commercial success selling 7 million copies worldwide.

Not only hit-maker, Yanni has toured in different parts of the world, further garnering praises for his dynamic musical style. Armen Anassian, a respected musician and conductor who has worked with Yanni reveals, “His (Yanni’s) music really comes from the heart. He writes music with ease, the music comes out with relative ease. The feel-good portion of the music is a by-product. It coincides with what the people love to hear."
