Various Artists - Mambo
|
With its variety og forgein influences, the mambo which means "conversation with the gods" is a Cuban-originated rhythm with a rich history. Distinctively different in its beat and with more syncopation than the rhumba, this Afro-Cuban dance genre was quite popular during the 1940s and became part of the big band sound of the 1950s. The mambo is currently enjoying a renewed popularity due to the number of films featuring this beloved dance. That enthusiasm is beautifully reflected here in the Hi-Fi Latin Rhythms series collectionfeaturing Arturo Velasco (Trombone), Ramon Flores (Trumpet) and Daniel Fornero (Trumpet).
